Obituary for Shirley Brown

Shirley Brown
Shirley Ann Jenkins Brown, age 80, died peacefully while at the Tennessee State Veterans Home.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, August 17, 2018 at the chapel of McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home with Dr. Kim Allen officiating. She will be laid to rest at Riverview Cemetery.
Shirley's family will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday and 10 a.m. until the hour of service on Friday at the funeral home.
Shirley entered into this life on September 24, 1937 to the late Hesley and Esther Phillips Jenkins. She was a loving mother and Gold Star Wife, having been predeceased by her husband, CPO Ernest Brown, Jr., who tragically died off the coast of South Vietnam in 1970. After his passing, Shirley was steadfast in her role as a single parent, providing abiding love and care to her five children. She was also a beloved member of the church family at Little West Fork Baptist Church.
Survivors include her children, Pamela Darlene Warren, Veda Jane Doby (Sylvester), Judy Ann Hinaman (Art), Terry Keith Brown, and Mary Esther Brown Bowles; her brothers, Donald, Robert, and Dale Jenkins; and her best friend and beloved partner in life for the past thirty nine years, Eugene "Buddy" Sugg. She was also the loving grandmother to ten grandchildren, four step-grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
