Helen Frances Fitzgerald Nagrod, age 91 of Clarksville, passed away Saturday, November 17, 2018 at her daughter's residence in Fairfax, VA. A celebration of her life will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, December 2, 2018 at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Chapel, with Reverend Sam Hill and Elders from The Community Church officiating. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Saturday, December 1st, 2018 and from 12 Noon until the hour of service Sunday, December 2nd, 2018 at the funeral home.

Helen was born September 20, 1927 in Queens, NY and is preceded in death by her husband, Jack of 63 years, parents, Julia and John Fitzgerald, brothers, John and Robert Fitzgerald and sister Margaret Weismiller and grand-daughter, Shelane Gaydos.

In her younger years she was a telephone operator for Bell in New York City, NY and worked for a candy company. She was a member of the Clarksville Christians Woman's club, volunteered at Gateway Hospital and worked at the Clarksville voting polls. Above all, she loved being a homemaker and doting over her loving husband Jack and raising her three girls, Patricia, Joanne and Jacqueline. She was known as Jack's Wild Irish Rose. Helen and Jack were a fixture and rarely did you see one without the other. She was always by his side, usually hand in hand and traveled the world with him while he was in the Air Force for 30 years. After he retired she could be seen around town attending many of the Montgomery County Commissioner board meetings and numerous other community organization meetings. She attended the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Clarksville, Fort Campbell Catholic Chapel, and the Clarksville Community Church.

Survivors include her daughters, Patricia (Richard) Buchanan, Joanne (Stephen) Bryant and Jacqueline Trimble; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren, sister-in-laws, Pearl (Otto) Decker and Joan Nagrod and numerous nieces and nephews. Honorary Pallbearers will be Richard, Curtis and Tyler Buchanan, Stephen and Shawn Bryant and Peter Nagrod.

The family would like to express a heartfelt "Thank You" to the Hospice Medical Team of Fairfax, VA for their professionalism and dedication to the outstanding care of their mother.
