Mrs. Dottie Hamilton, age 88 of Erin, Tn, passed away at Houston County Community Hospital on Saturday October 20, 2018.
There will be a celebration of life for Mrs. Hamilton on Tuesday, October 23, 2018 beginning at 12:00 pm at Nave Funeral Chapel with Tony Baggett preaching the service. Burial will follow the service at Cedar Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 until 8:00 Monday evening, and from 9:00 until the hour of service on Tuesday.
Mrs. Dottie entered this life as Dottie Brooks to Mr. Ernest Brooks and Mrs. Maybell Paterson Brooks on July 19, 1930 in Erin, Tennessee. She later married Mr. William (Buddy) Hamilton and blessed him with four children. She had a passion for gospel music.
Mrs. Hamilton was preceded in death by her parents and seven of her eight siblings as well as her loving husband. She leaves behind her three loving sons William Hamilton, Norman Hamilton, and Darrell Hamilton; as well as her loving daughter Gerrie McDowell. She also leaves behind her dear sister Pauline Hackett. Mrs. Dottie was blessed with 9 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren, all of who will miss her very much.
Serving as pall bearers will be William Barritt, Jeff Hamilton, Scott Hamilton, Zack Odom, Kevin Smith Jr., Kyler Smith, Michael Barrit, and Jerry Hankins. Her services are in the care of Nave Funeral Homes. Online Condolences can be made at navefuneralhomes.com .
