Minnie Jenette Mackens Byard, affectionately known as "Cricket", passed away on Saturday, February 10, 2018.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, February 14, 2018 at the chapel of McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home with the Rev. David Mackens officiating. She will be laid to rest in the Baggett's Chapel Cemetery. Cricket's family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and 11 a.m. until the hour of service Wednesday.
Cricket entered into this life on April 12, 1943 in Montgomery County to the late Frank Mackens and Estell Underwood Mackens. She was a loving wife to her husband, Larry Byard, who preceded her in death, and a wonderful mother and homemaker to her family.
In addition to her husband, Cricket was preceded in death by her children, Tommy Byard and Tina Jackson and her grandchildren, Gregory and Jessica Byard. Survivors include her sons, Phillip Byard (Tammy), Michael Byard (Jamie), and Ricky Byard (Cheri) and her siblings, Robert Mackens, Noel Mackens, Lucy Elrod, Margie Gaither, and Shirley Mackens. She was the loving grandmother of eight grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Phillip Byard, Michael Byard, Ricky Byard, Brandon Byard, Scott Mackens, and Randy Wall.
