Dorothy Gene Sanford Gray, of Clarksville, went to be with Jesus on Saturday, February 10, 2018 while surrounded by her loving family.
She was the daughter of the late Pearl Tucker Sanford Dickson and Charles Lee Sanford. Dorothy was preceded in death by her devoted husband, McCauley Gray, Jr., and her brothers, Robert, Bill, and George Sanford. She is survived by her five children, Patricia Elaine Herrington (Ed), McCauley Gray III (Mickie), Pamela Lorraine Gray, Charles Robert Gray (Constance), and Sanford Lee Gray (Vicki). She also leaves behind her grandchildren, Daron Boyd Brown (Katie), Ryan McCauley Brown (Jamie), Laura Gene Brown Narvid (Michael), Jack McCauley Gray, Travis Davis, Kristen Davis, and Jay McKenzie and her loving great grandchildren, Kendall, Parker, and McCauley Macy Brown, Jamison and Ryanne Brown, Addison and Wyatt Narvid, and Cody and Woody Hartley. Also, Dorothy is survived by her loving nieces and nephews and her special niece, Susan Sanford Ratliff.
Known as "Nana" to her grandchildren and great grandchildren, and the "Belle of Port Royal" to her many friends, Nana was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend. She will be greatly missed by all. Her kindness, love, and sense of humor will live on in memory.
Services will be conducted by Pastor Daron Brown at 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, February 13, 2018 at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday and 1:30 to 2 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers are Bob Abernathy, Justin Hurd, Jack McCauley Gray, Woody Hartley, Cody Hartley, and Jerry Wayne Wood.
