Susie Ann Armstrong, age 78, passed away on Thursday, August 3, 2017 at Vanderbilt Medical Center.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Palmyra United Methodist Church with Dr. Betty Meriweather officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 9:30 a.m. until 11 a.m. at the church.
Susie was born on October 28, 1938 in Lutts, Tennessee to the late Luther Gatson Webb and Lora White Webb. She was retired from her nursing career where she enjoyed working at Crestwood Hospital in Huntsville, Alabama for a number of years. Dedicated to patient care and the desire to help people, Susie volunteered her time to the VA Hospital in Nashville following her retirement. She was a positive person, always saw the good in people, and never met a stranger. She was a part of the church family at Palmyra United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her loving husband, Joe Ed Armstrong; daughters, Susie Murphy (Bryan), Kendra Milliken (Steven), and Diana Farlow; grandchildren, Lora Murphy and Victoria Milliken; siblings, L.G. Webb, Jr., Catherine Stanford, and Brenda Poore; her uncle, Les Fouts; and a host of loving nieces and nephews.
